Arrow New to pvp :P

Its been a year since i played but i decided to come back since i just finished all the plot quests in all expansions , but i never got into the pvp and i love that part of a game .

So i was wondering if i could have advice on where to start?

i was thinking going into RA with nice solo build and my interest is being a useful Melee offensive character, i have only played before with mesmer-elementalist-assassin and the Devirish but on PVE only, so im unsure what would be nice for RA pvp in the gameplay i am looking for

i like to kill but not die too fast ><

RA is a decent place to start, but commonly bigger arenas are easier to learn the basics of team strategy and honestly, a lot of newer pvp'ers find them more fun. So, I would recommend AB or even FA to start as well.

As for builds, I'm pretty biased, but you could always check out PvX. We have all of our builds in .zips now so it would be easy for you to download every single build for a certain PvP format.

...or you could check out the builds here. Either way would probably be fine

Hope that helps.

thanks karate jesus and levothar .

so far i think the warrior is best melee damage dealer in terms of utility since it doesnt die as fast as an Assassin...anyway so far ill make that and use the magehunter smash hammer warrior build that i found on pvx wiki

to bad i need to aquire that elite XD but it will be fun

Join a guild. Guilds are practically the only way to get into higher ends of PvP. They will be able to offer invaluable information and advice in addition to a good group of friends.

If you want to learn important game elements, I would suggest playing midline or backline rangers, elementalists, mesmers, necromancers, paragons, ritualists, monks rather than frontline warriors, assassins, or dervishes. While frontline is important, I feel frontline play is too linear, easily tunnel-visioning your play. Learning effectively will be harder. Midline or backline force you to watch the battlefield and team status. NotetThat doesn't mean I want to discourage playing any certain classes. I believe being able to be versatile and flexible in different classes has its advantages, especially for a new player. One advantage is that the different mechanics of each class overlaps with other classes. Understanding this allows you to train some monk elements even while playing a warrior. In addition, playing a variety of classes teaches you the common builds, common tactics, and common skills of a particular bar. Focusing too much on one profession may start tunnel visioning your view again. See PvX for bars.

If you haven't already, you might consider changing your user interface to suit a better PvP need.
